I'm getting the same "Error: unrecognized/unsupported machine ID"
error message with my TS-7260 and this patch. However I managed to
compile a working 2.6.25 kernel using the patch in
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ts-7000/message/11255
I'm using gcc-4.2.2 crosstools from http://www.emdebian.org/. They
provide .deb packages which are really easy to setup. Also, Angstrom
rootfs on a USB stick is working like a charm. Only downside is that
building the image takes two whole days (initial build)!!
It would be nice to see a concentrated effort to bring best possible
support for ts-72xx in the upstream kernel instead of overlapping set
of patches. Also SD card support would be nice :).
