Thanks Dave,

You're right of course. I am jumping the gun a little.

The product requires two 10/100 NIC's only (and an optional third).
After that, it could probably do with an LCD display and keypad but
most of the management of the device would be via SNMP and SSH (with
some menu driven code).

That's pretty much it on the hardware side of things.
