Hi TS people, I am looking at developing a product that will require the ability to shutdown and bring back up the physical Ethernet ports down under software control. And it will also require the ability to pass Ethernet frames while bypassing the IP stack. In other words, software needs to be able to bridge Ethernet frames from one port to another and generate frames and put them onto the Ethernet at will. Is anyone aware of LINUX being able to do this (I can't imagine it NOT being able to)? Is there a code base I should be looking at to find the various calls involved? Many thanks for any help received. Mike. Yahoo!
