I've seen this problem too from time to time; but oddly enough, not on my 
TS-7800 booted from the SD card.  (Maybe it's a problem with something not 
mounted like /proc/ or something in /dev maybe???)

Do you get the information for the partition you want if you explicitly pass 
it to df?  e.g.

df /dev/tssdcarda4
