What parameters worked for you? Parameters in the /etc/rcX.d scripts
or some parameters related to inittab?
I suspected you might say something about ctrl-C getting ignored but I
haven't seen a problem with printing without linefeeds. Do you have a
solution for ctrl-C being acted upon correctly?

I sometimes have a need for some login control similar to what you
described. How have you addressed that?

I've learned some Hoosier... thanks. Admittedly, my repeating
"Messing" had more of an edge to than I intended and realized I didn't
put a suitable emoticon to indicate some humor. As you probably know,
an error in inittab could result in the inability to log in.
