Like many others the ts7250 boot time is killing me. I'm measuring 30
seconds for the stock yaffs2 driver to initialize on several (all?)
boards. When I googled for slow boot times and yaffs2 I discovered
that checkpointing added was added to yaff2 in May of 2006 which is
said to reduce start-up scanning time enormously. Sounds like just
what I need.
Has anyone successfully back ported the current yaffs2 bits to the
ts7xxx 2.4 kernel? The stock code only supports 2.6 out of the box.
I got the code to compile, but it's unable to mount the existing flash
(it runs out of memory).
It looks like backporting the code may be a significant (but hopefully
worthwhile) effort.
If anyone running yaff2 w/ checkpointing on ts7250 w/ a 2.6 kernel
could you tell me how long it takes to boot?
Thanks!
