I use the gcc test suite, but I don't know if you can easily run that
without first building the compiler. For measuring speed I use fftw
but I don't know whether that will also check the correctness of the
results.

If you want to look into this further, Googling [floating point
validation suite] turns up some stuff including the encyclopedic
article http://www.math.utah.edu/~beebe/software/ieee/ and the index
at http://www.netlib.org/fp/ of which paranoia.c looks most promising.
