I second that.

I've got a Siemens Logo with the built-in A/D sitting on my desk with
an LM34 hooked up to it.  It's currently turning an output on and off
based on the room temp.

Not quite thermocouple accuracy, but good enough for what I need and
*cheap* and easy to program - 1 line of ladder.  :-)
