If you're using the default TS filesystem, the best idea would be to
enable hotplug in your kernel and to install the relevent hotplug
scripts in /etc/hotplug.
If you're using a more recent filesystem with busybox, there's a really
great tool called mdev which can create the relevent /dev nodes and also
launch specific programs upon insert / remove.
