Hi,

I now there is no FP available on 7250 and recall seeing Eddie post a
rather terse "NO" when someone asked the question.

I have managed to find some information on the subject which seemed
to indicate fp emulation could be done but I'd need uclibc which in
itself required a 2.6.x kernel (which is not currently supported by
TS).

I need to asses how much customisation effort this is going to imply
and whether I need to find another way to implement what I need
without fp.

Could someone give me details on what is needed to achieve softfp on
7250?

Also, from the EP9302 data sheet it see this:

MaverickCrunch? Math Engine
? Floating point, Integer and Signal Processing
Instructions
? Optimized for digital music compression and
decompression algorithms.
? Hardware interlocks allow in-line coding.

This seems to indicate that there is some hardware FP available from
this chip. Can anyone explain why this is not available from the 7250?

maybe this was just removed from TS products because there were too
many issues.

Many thanks for any info that will help me asses the best way forward.

regards. js.
