There are also a couple of programs I've written that access the MAX197:
adc_logger and adio, they can be downloaded from my ts7200 page. The code
that accesses the hardware is all abstracted out into functions in the
ts7200io.c file of the source code. It is based on the example code from
TS, and is GPL'd.
