Hit the "send" button just a tad too soon. I forgot one last comment in last 
message in this thread.

Thank you Dave and Triffid for the suggestions. My kernel module is working 
nicely for the most part. I may still need to add a 25uS delay between two of 
the signals I'm generating since the circuitry seems to often be locking on to 
the negative portion of the waveform I'm monitoring but that is a separate 
issue I could deal with by using TIMER3.
