As I understand it no you can't do this with a 72xx board.  Possibly with a 7300.  The 7400 does it because it doesn't use RedBoot, it boots basically straight to Linux which then boots another Linux distro of your choice off SD or stays in the fastboot environment.

with the right script in the flash i think then no problem, but iam not tested
