Hey thanks,
Unfortunately, I'm not running Debian. I'm working
off an old slackware box (under a deadline). Besides,
there is no qc-usb-xxx package for Slackware. I
suspect it includes some of the modules I already have
though.
I have managed to compiled the pwc and pwcx drivers.
Unfortunately, they are no longer supported. So I get
garbled green pixels ... likely due to the fact that I
can't load pwcx.o. That module complains, as it's
compiled against a precompiled libpwcx.a ... which is
compiled with gcc v2 and my kernel is compiled with
v3, etc...
So I think my Quickcam 4000 pro will simply not work
with Linux. ;-( I'll wait for someone to hopefully
suggest a suitable alternative.
Thanks,
DT
