Thanks a lot.

Where did you place that how-to, on ALSA web site? ("Compile ALSA 
driver for the 2.4 kernel ")

You said "there are some patches around", any particular one that 
you can recommend? Sorry for bugging you, but this knowledge might 
save some of my time...
