It's a while I'm playing with I2S, it works fine with the ts-7400 ;-)

The Cirrus core ep9302 supports I2S, but (if I'm not wrong) the TS-7260 and TS-7300 don't expose the pins. On the other side, the TS-7400 exposes pins that can be multiplexed for I2S or AC97.

On the software side, the last TS2.4 kernels support some chips thought OSS, but it my opinion the sound module was not 100%. In order to have a fully working codec though I2S, I switched to the 2.6 kernel, but it's not completely trivial.

Good luck
Andrea

Subject: [ts-7000] I2S on 7260?

I'm trying to test the AD1871 ADC (intended for digital audio applications) with a TS-7260.
The default mode for the AD1871 is to spit out data in I2S. The EP9302 User's Guide says
the ARM on board the TS-7260 can handle I2S. The following thread suggests the TS-7300
is able to read I2S. Is I2S possible on the TS-7260?

http://tech. groups.yahoo. com/group/ ts-7000/message/ 4698

I've gotten SPI to work, but I don't see how to get both SCK and the extra clock, LRCLK that
I2S needs, from a peripheral device into the TS-7260/ARM.

Can anyone verify that I2S is possible on the 7260? And if so, give me some advice on how
to implement it?

Thanks in advance,
Peter
