Hello all,
I have a TS-7300 with Debian 3.1 on it, with the linux 2.4 kernel.
I'm quite excited to get Debian Etch 4.0 onto it, but an apt-get
dist-upgrade would probably take a really, really long time, and
perhaps fail. Then I would need to cross compile and install a new
kernel, etc.
Just re-imaging the SD card with a new version of Debian Etch as
prepared by TS would make things much, much easier for users like me.
When I go to Technologic System's Debian page at:
http://www.embeddedarm.com/linux/ARM.htm#debian
...one can download a ready-to-use image of Debian 3.0 (woody) and 3.1
(sarge), but 4.0 (etch) is not available yet.
I know the employees of Technologic Systems read this mailing list, so
I thought I'd ask if there's any word (official or otherwise) on when
this might possibly be made available for download on the page above.
And also, would that new Debian image have a 2.6 kernel?
...and if I can squeeze in a humble request, can the default
filesystem be JFFS2 instead of ext2 (or some other flash filesystem
that's journaled)? Pretty please?
I know Debian Etch was only released a few weeks ago, and these things
can take time, so I apologize for the nagging. But I'm dying to know.
Thanks in advance,
Dustin Harriman
