I don't know if this is your problem, but there is an old (ancient,
really) atoi code that has made its way into all sorts of stuff.

It was originally written by apple, and it fails to work properly on
ARM hardware.

If you have source, please check to see if it uses an atoi routine,
and then check the comments to see if it is (C) apple.  If so, let me
know and I can provide a patched version.
