Sounds like you are talking to the wrong network!
There should be an AT command that dumps status, such as channel number,
signal strength, etc. Perhaps you could look at that.
Contact me direct and I'll help you if I can. I've done extensive work on this
type setup,
just CDMA and not GSM.

Subject: [ts-7000] Re: TS-GSM1 on a 7260 - LCP negotiation?
I am just about to give up on this thing. Maybe I'm just not smart
enough to figure it out but I am at wits end with this setup.
I have all the configuration set up: TS-7620 with a TS-GSM1, a GR64
modem and a Cingular SIM card. I run PPPD with all the proper
switches, APN, user and password, etc, etc (after much trouble I
think I have it down). the only weird thing is I am at 9600 baud to
prevent the buffer overruns I was getting. It connects to something
after dailing *99***1#, it begins LCP authentication, I pap
authenticate (somewhere), and get an IP address (85.102.119.136),
then it terminates the connection. That' it. I can't get any further.
The IP resolves to a Turkish company interestingly enough.
Cingular can't help me because it is not supported hardware but after
much pestering they say that they never see this device or the
request from the SIM on their network and they they have not issued
me any IP address, etc.
Sony Ericsson doesn't support the device either, it apparently belogs
to 3M but they don't even have a reference on their website for
support in this area.
That leads me back to TS but they don't have much to offer on this
either. They supply the hardware, I need to figure out how to make it
work. If I ever figure this out I will document it and send it in to
TS to save others from this plight. so, enough griping...
More intereting facts:
The username and password does not matter, anything with work
and CINGULAR1 are what they should be).
The modem thing does the same negotiation with or without the SIM?

(some varioations occur with switchs here but all get terminated)
Can anyone help? Does anyone have one of these working with Cingular?
