Only if the filesystem doesn't have kernel modules that were compiled
against the same kernel you are running.

As mentioned by others if you don't have a BBRTC your date/time will be
incorrect. You can use tunefs to disable the filesystem checks based on
the number of days since the last filesystem check.

I'm not sure about the orphaned list, are you properly shutting your
board down(e.g. with shutdown or halt)?
