It has to be a REGULATED 5v power supply. So the answer is not much
tolerance. Technologics, in the TS7200 Draft[1] user Manual have a note on
page 6 saying that applying more than 6v can damage the board. I'd stick
to 5v.

connect up a dummy load and measure the voltage on no-load and on load.
If you read 5.1v volts for both, it is probably a regulated PSU
