I just wanted to say: thanks a lot for this great summary of the 2.6 
kernel situation!

I myself am running a 2.6 kernel on a TS7400 board, but still had not 
been able to get 64M, yaffs2 or EABI working.

I can't wait to try out all this stuff :)
