- Not strictly by frequency. Really looking for something that is
already FCC approved and meets our range requirements. Having a high
degree of interference resistance, via Frequency Hopping, etc., is
required.

- LOS is out of the question as we are using this for a mobile robot in
a confined range.

- We've been afraid of the seemingly unreliable nature of WiFi. We have
also seen WiFi start to become failure prone in heavy WiFi congestion
areas, e.g. a conference center.

Couple of reasons, not Ethernet out of the box, range is more than
sufficient.

Some of the key requirements are:
- reliability, reliability, reliability
- low latency, < 10ms
- interference resistant
- TCP/UDP ready

I was hoping that the shorter range would open up more options. Here is
an example of the type of technology that we were thinking about:
http://hardware.gamershell.com/articles/logitech_play_link_wireless_network_extender_review/

These have:
- factory pairing
- 100 ft. range
- encrypted
- up to 1.5 Mbps
- < $100/pair

The only downside is the packaging.
