Just a clarification: With the SD/CF cards available, the kernel *can* be stored on the media. The wiki instructions show how that can be done. More typically it is stored on flash, in which case there is plenty of docs out there on how to stuff a new kernel into flash and how to boot from it. --Yan Yahoo!
