I have successfully connected a webcam to a TS-7400 board. I've used
kernel 2.6 with the uvc driver from here:
http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/
If you want to use your webcam (and not buy a new one) you'll have to
search the internet to see if it is supported in Linux.
I went for a webcam that supported the "Video Class Device" USB
specification. The advantage of using a device that conforms to this
specification is that when the camera reaches the market there is
already a driver for it. Also, it will probably be easier to replace a
webcam in the future with a new model and have it "just work".
Bare in mind that this involves:
- getting a 2.6 kernel to work on your board
- compiling the uvc driver for ARM (it is still off-tree, maybe it
will go in in 2.6.21)
Alternatively, you can check what webcams does a 2.4 kernel support and
try to find one model that is still available....
Good luck,
