Hi I'm (one of) the people who had this problem, using a Multitech GSM/GPRS
modem.
It was crashing (and rebooting) every time it tried to log on to the GSM
network.
I fixed it by using an addition 5V 3A regulator purely to feed the modem. The
TS-MODEM2
board which takes daughter boards has a 3-in jumper to supply either 3.3V or 5V
to the
modem.
The left pin is the 3.3V supply, the right pin the 5V supply, and the centre
pin goes to the
daugther board. I rmeoved the jumper and connected the5V 3A regulator directly
to the
centre pin, so that no pulse loads from the modem would appear on the TS7260
supply.
Works a dream - haven't had a single reset since.
BUT you are getting hangs, not resets, and apparently actually getting pppd to
connect. So
maybe it's not related at all.
