By people?  Yes.  It's backlit, so visibility is no problem.

I don't think you can read the data displayed on it through the computer.

I believe that particular controller has a downloadable font feature.
 I think you can download 64 characters of your own choosing.  The
best thing to do is to get the manual for the controller.
