I modified /etc/inittab, commenting the lines that launch a respawn 
process for mgetty on both ttyAM0 and ttyAM1. It solved my 
problem! :)

Also, i found out that mgetty uses pppd to listen to incoming PPP 
requests on the port. Thats why it was answering my PMPP responses, 
maybe with an "error bad format" PPP response.
