Hello,
I want to install a new kernel in my TS-7400. I have downloaded these sources:
ftp://ftp.embeddedarm.com/ts-arm-linux-cd/sources/tskernel-2.4.26-ts11-src.tar.gz
And with the help of the crosstools found in the CD
(crosstool-linux-gcc-3.3.4-glibc-2.3.2-0.28rc39.tar.bz2), I have been able to
compile a new zImage (700Kb). Now I see in the documentation that I have to
make a:
insmod /ts7xxx_nand.o; mtdcp /mnt/root/zImage 1 0
But first I want to be sure that I will be able to recover the old kernel if
the
new one fails. So my questions are:
- Anyone knows how to read the old kernel?
- How do I restore the old kernel if the new one fails?. Perhaps a TFTP
mechanism? I've found no information about this in internet.
thanks for your help,
arnau
