Hi Rob,

Glad to here that it got you somewhere.

As for the hardware flow control, most devices don't actively use 
those lines to control flow of information, but more just to know if 
it is plugged into something or not. So you can often get away 
with 'faking' the signals that the device needs.

As mentioned by Jim in his last post on this topic, you can make up 
a cable that loops back the signals that you need. Like Jim says 
google is your friend here, there is plenty of info on this around. 
If you can't find exactly what you need, let us know.
