I'm not sure with Linux, but wouldn't the OS modify the file
allocation table to enter the last modified date for the file being
accessed...
I was going to do something similar with the 2nd SD card, but may
switch to the thumb drive as accessing the SD card within the TS-7300
enclosure is a little difficult!
What I'm planning is a little more user intensive - you would select
a copy function on the touchscreen which will transfer the data from
the requested date range from the internal SD card to the thumb
drive. In that way I shouldn't damage the SD card image if the USB
drive is extracted at the wrong time. The display would display a
copying progress screen and then indicate that the USB drive could be
removed.
With SD cards and USB flash drives being so cheap (1GB size), it
makes sense to use both (in my application at least).
