Subject: [ts-7000] hardware acceleration for floating point on ts-7300

Hi all,

I see that the ts-7300 has a programmable FPGA. It
also does software emulation of floating point
operations (ie. in the version of Debian distributed
by Technologic Systems), because mavcrunch support
doesn't seem to be compiled into Debian's stock arm
packages currently.

So if mavcrunch isn't readily available for use, how
hard would it be to burn the floating point emulation
software into the FPGA, and thereby gain hardware
acceleration on floating point operations (and to heck
with mavcrunch)? Would it fit?

If this is possible, can anyone give me pointers on
how to go about this? Can the FPGA's contents be
mounted like a filesystem, and I just copy files in
there (thereby burning them in)? I suppose that would
be asking an awful lot.

It would be important to me that the FPGA still be
able to drive the VGA video, as I wouldn't want to
lose that.

Any corrections to my dim understanding of the
ts-7300's capabilities would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dustin Harriman
