If you have the 7300 with debian loaded on the SD card, should come with gcc. Mine has it. But for some reason it does not have g++, I need to look for that. I am still using the cross compiler though as it is so simple and easy to use.

Probably not recommended, use the cross compile tools to do this. 
Compiling on the board is probably very slooooooow..
