My company is attempting to use the 7250 to implement a small-
footprint data-collection and communications server (with both TCP-IP
and RS-232 connections) in a factory automation environment. We are
porting our existing communications product software (written in C)
from Windows to Linux, and are running into a number of limitations
with the standard Linux thread manipulation and critical region
features (primarily pthreads and the System V 'sem' operations).
We are considering if maybe RTAI is a possible solution to these
issues. Is anyone aware of a recent successful use of the ADEOS and
RTAI modules and kernel patches with the 72xx? Any information beyond
what's on the Technologic web-site would be helpful.
