"Appears". There is enough output to indicate what is happenning and
sitting with a clock with second hand would allow an initial profile of
what takes how long to happen.

Of course how long it takes to boot depends on how it is configured, of
which you have given no indication. Booting via an initrd, with many
services being started and devices initialised will obviously take longer
than just loading from onboard flash, with minimal services and devices to
get ready.

The startup process, once the kernel is initialised, is usually just a
bunch of scripts sequentially executed, and it may be possible to rescript
so some run in parallel.

If you client's requirement was for only a few seconds for POR then really
a linux board is probably not what they need. Or if they really do need a
linux board, then you will need to engineer a readjustment in client
expectations :-)
