I would like to have used ECOS, but it sure looks like it's only
marginally supported.

What I'm trying to achieve is a system that can have it's power
abruptly disconnected without disturbing the file system.

The "Getting Started with ARM Linux" doc (page 3) says that JFFS2 is
the way to go for this, which I take to mean that we need to run out
of onboard flash rather than CF.

It seems to me that this would be a very normal need in an embedded
product, so it's a mystery that Technological Systems hasn't
officially provided a path or instructions for doing it.  See my
