Interesting side note.
I was just screwing around with Kate on my linux machine since I never
really looked at it before. I used its built in command line interface
to telnet into the TS-7200 and pretty much just left it on my vnc
desktop and forgot about it.
As I had mentioned before, I had loaded in mc only to get segmentation
faults.
On a lark, I was clicking on the Kate application and then type mc in
the command line interface. To my astonishment, the program started up. 
So from what I can see, somehow the termtype that was picked up
telneting in from Kate got set to Xterm. The desktop Konsoles that I
was using to telnet into the Ts-7200 all come across as linux terminals. 
So I have to figure out how the telnet program convinced the TS-7200
to choose a different termtype other than linux.

I remember 10 years ago having fun times getting terminal types to
work out with SCO Unix. I guess its time to revisit it a little bit.
