I have a 7200 with a SER1 card. I am running Hyperterminal on a Windows box connecting to minicom on the 7200. When I connect to /dev/tts/2 the response time to/from each unit is almost immediate which I would expect. When I connect to ttyAM1 on the mainboard, there is a noticeable lag in the response times...on the order of 2 or more seconds. When I do use a SER4 board and connect to /dev/tts/2 and /dev/tts/3, the response is also immediate on both ports. What is there about the ttyAM1 that would cause such a delay? Yahoo!
