One thing I noticed checking your code and the /proc/bus/usb/devices is 
that this camera has a different ProdID number  Vendor=046d ProdID=08c2 
Rev= 0.05
Which I guess corrisponds with the quickCam PTZ?
Guess that is what makes it the "orbit MP" rather then just the orbit.


The microphone is detected in this device. And I have tried your latest 
snapshot code as well. I'm going to try it on a x86 box and a new kernel 
on this dual core x86_64 machine.
