I installed it with the 2.6.13 kernel and it worked perfectly with the
Logitech 4000.

I'm using debian, but it's the 2.6.13 kernel directly from kernel.org

Subject: [pwc] Successful compilation but cannot load pwc driver

Dear pwc list:

I have a Logitech QuickCam 4000 pro. I am running FC4 with a 2.6.13.1
kernel. I have kernel source installed.

Compilation and installation of pwc-10.0.7a proceeds uneventfully. Then:

# modprobe pwc

FATAL: Error inserting pwc (/lib/modules/2.6.13.1/media/pwc.ko): Unknown
symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)

/var/log/dmesg contains:

pwc: Unknown parameter `index' (rempeated a number of times)

I have also tried current snapshots, example
pwc-current-20050925-043001.tar.bz2, first making sure to remove any old
drivers:

# find /lib/modules/`uname -r`/ -name "pwc*.ko*" | xargs rm

and installing the new, but always with the same result as above.

Interestingly, on FC3 I was able to successfully compile and run this
driver.

I wil monitor the list for a reply. Thank you.
