Thanks Dan and Norm

Because the Sound Devise is still new to me, I'm still feeling my way
through it. Not having used a new battery, I still don't know how long it
will record for but am sure it want last all night. Doug, I was trying not
to get up during the night to change batteries. It was interesting one of
your batteries lasted over 12 hours and there is a compact external power
unit available.

I did entertain the idea of using a 7Ah sealed battery I already have but i=
f
my calculations are right, it is not going to be enough.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

According to the manual, I will using about 15w

At 12v, that will be 1.25amps.

For 18 hours of recording, that will be 22.5 Ah

Batteries that size is knocking around 9 kilos. Sound Device website
approximates a 6400mAh (6.4Ah) battery would last about 4 hours. That's 28.=
8
Ah for 18hours but powering 4 mics and a hard drive. Norm, what power
supply were you using to record for 6 weeks?

I suspect there will be limited combinations for Hirose connection. If
needed, will try to make one. On paper it looks simple but my soldering
skills are basic.

Thanks for the advice

David
