testing mkh30 snd mkh40 microphones

Subject: testing mkh30 snd mkh40 microphones

Hi Recordists, I recently dispatched my two mkh20's to Sennheiser Repair, f=
inding they were much reduced in output, and both capsules were replaced, s=
o they are again provide inspiring listening. I surmise the humid air here =
in Hawaii has had a negative effect, after ~15 years of use. I will now sto=
re them more carefully with a de-humidifier.

I use these omni's as the rear half of my 4-channel set-up, with mkh30/40 =
in the front, in mid-side config.

I am now considering sending off the mkh30/40 pair for inspection, as they=
subjectively seem low in output--they are have been at work about 6 years.=
I would like to test them here at home before sending them--can anyone sug=
gest a testing protocol that I could use?

 Many thanks,

 David
