As an advisory board member of the International Society of Ecoacoustics, we
are inviting all who are interested in exploring the field science and cultural
aspects of soundscape ecology to join this fascinating new worldwide group of
researchers and artists. Newly formed,

Being a member of the ISE will involve you with the fast growing community of
researchers and citizens interested in the study and use of sounds in the field
of ecology and other related subjects. ISE Members also benefit in some
reductions related to the production and events organised by the ISE. For
example, the next Ecoacoustics Congress will be held 24-28 June 2018 in
Brisbane, Australia.

The ISE has also opened an email discussion group so that we can share
information about publications, equipment, methods, projects, congresses and
any other topic related to ecoacoustics.

This group is way cool and highly recommended for those curious about the finer
points of this exciting new method of exploring the voice of natural world.

2. Wrapping Up National Parks Week--PLUS June Submission info
    Posted by:
Date: Sat May 5, 2018 12:56 pm ((PDT))

Hello everyone,

For those interested in where the recording submissions went for threatened
landscapes in the US you can go to
https://www.kboo.fm/media/64389-land-our-land
https://www.kboo.fm/media/64389-land-our-land for the threatened landscapes
episode broadcast on KBOO 90.7 FM out of Portland, OR on March 31, 2018. Two of
your members submitted significant portions of audio for it so thank you again
to Dr. Krause and Mr. Porter. Feedback thus far has been too much talking,
which I agree with entirely. It was a special episode so I'm still playing with
the format, but am hoping to fill out the submissions enough to play even more
audio with the June episode.

The accompanying op-ed piece was published in the Big Smoke on April 18 here
http://thebigsmoke.com/2018/04/18/the-mountains-are-calling/
http://thebigsmoke.com/2018/04/18/the-mountains-are-calling/.

 NEW SUBMISSION PERIOD IS OPEN

The next episode airs June 30th from 12-3 AM. Being that it's summer, and that
most of the episodes have been land based I am seeking shorescapes, seascapes,
underwater, or other aquatic-related submissions. If you have audio you wish to
share on air with via a non-profit community radio station within this general
theme, please email me and I will give you further details. At the moment I
have a line on some humpbacks but that is all so far, I'd love to have a wider
representation of these diverse environments. I'm looking for as little
anthrophony as possible, but if it's there and proves a point I'm open to that.
Geophony and biophony as always are welcome.

 Thank you so much!
