I will be all around the Joshua Tree National Park as well.

Cottonwood Spring near the south entrance is my favorite spot, though as of=
 a couple of weeks ago it was heavily impacted by drought. Just a damp spot=
, no trickle. No red-spotted toads at night, few quail.

I=92ve never been out to Lost Palms Oasis, a hike out from Cottonwood..

I=92ve had good luck on the trails around Indian Cove Campground in the mor=
ning before the campers get up.
