stereo MiniDisc+Sony ECM MS-907 vs. Zoom H1n x/y built-in

I've enjoyed immersive ambient in-room talk/voice/sounds stereo recording o=
ver the years with binaural in-ear mics and Sony MS-907 stereo mic using a =
Sony MiniDisc recorder and playback on headphones, but alas, the MiniDisc s=
oftware app was never updated to work on Windows 7, so it is essentially de=
ad. I'm not familiar with X/Y-mic stereo recording, but curious about try=
ing the Zoom H1n (2018 updated version) with built-in X/Y mics. It seems s=
o convenient, but has anyone had some prior experience to anticipate what I=
will experience in moving from my old setup to my potentially new setup? =

Is there any value to using the H1n recorder with Sony MS-907 stereo mic o=
r the in-ear binaural mics? ...or will the built-in X/Y mics sound approx=
the same? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm not an expert in this.=0D
