I=92ve used Tascam=92s free PCMRec MKII a few times, but only with the inte=
rnal mic, so quality is compromised from the start. My main objection to an=
ything iOS is that you have no control whatsoever over filing or where anyt=
hing is stored. You can upload to a cloud account, but a seemingly straight=
forward USB transfer isn=92t something Apple thinks you should be allowed t=
o do.
