1a. Wiring up EM172 capsules

Today I responded to a query on the sound recording forum of birdforums,
suggesting they use an EM172 with their Tascam DR-05. They asked me if the
capsules have polarity and have to be wired up the right way. It’s so long
since I did mine that I have no idea! I might even have just fluked it.
They come with a red and a black wire. Which one goes where on the 3.5mm plug?

The end and center rings are for the hot. The ground goes to the ring next to
the body of the plug
