I would like to minimize noise from behind when recording with my parabolic setup. Standing on a roadside and aiming off towards vocalizing birds, I pick up a great amount of traffic sound. Would attaching some sound dampening material to the back side of the dish help? It would be nice to lessen the assault on my ears while I monitor the recording. I have a homemade setup, using a Primo EM-172 capsule and a squirrel baffle, and I use an Olympus LS-11 recorder. Not being able to leave the roadside is non-negotiable in some places, due to private & native land access restrictions that I respect. I use recordings to document rare birds= . Thanks for your advice, Kevin Lucas |
