Wonderful detailed answer.  Thanks so much.  In fact I have
finished the project at this point. The microphone is
suspended in a PVC tube which is covered with a Rycote
Softie, and stretched over the dish is a think rip-stop
nylon fabric which will provide some protection, although
certainly not absolute.   I have to make this short since we
are experiencing what is left of Hurricane Irma here on the
coast of Georgia.
