Hi all, I am a newcomer to the recording world and got into it via birds here in Mi= ssissippi. So, up to now I've mostly been recording bird sounds with a para= bolic reflector and omnidirectional microphone. But I'm increasingly intere= sted in soundscapes. I'd like to experiment with a mid side setup and I'm w= ondering about microphone choices on a budget.=A0 Message: 1. Subject: In particular does anyone have recommendations for the best bang for you= r buck for the side microphone? I'd like to get an MKH-30, but I think it's= outside my price range right now. Has anyone used a Shure Beta 181-Bi for = field recording? Or am I on the wrong track?=A02. What about mid side setup= s in a single housing, e.g., a stereo shotgun microphone. Do these work jus= t as well? Thanks in advance for any assistance, JR |
